Here is my back story.

I have always wanted to become an artist all the way back to when I was a kid. The problem was that I initially did not know what kind of artist I could be. Would I become like one of the great creators out there?

So I did what any creative kid did, tried everything. I did drawing, painting, sculpture, comics, acting, video editing, screen-printing, and of course, doodling.

People would gather whenever I started drawing characters in my sketchbook. My classmates and neighbors would talk about characters that they had imagined up and they would ask me to draw them. Seeing their faces light up when they see their creation “come to life” through my art was valuable to me, and I wanted to continue to do it. So that was what I have decided to be my main study in my life.

During and after college

I was constantly asked what I wanted to do with my life now that I had a BFA

(Bachelors of Fine Arts).

I knew it wasn’t going to make me rich or anything but if I could at least pay the bills with what I could do, that would make my dream a reality.

I was not handed a career after college.
I needed to work for it and get to know people. I was working various jobs to help me battle my social anxiety. I worked an internship as a graphic designer for a local utility company. I dabbled in becoming a freelancer which landed me a job working at a print shop. As I have progressed my career, a sense of community and the importance of visual communication became more fulfilling.

The path of an artist is never an easy one, but I believe it will be worth it seeing how I have impacted the lives of many through my work.
